The differing creations you can turn into feature completely new abilities! As a frog use a paper tongue to pull objects closer, snip string to solve puzzles as a crab, and fly from wall to wall as a ninja star.
EVOGAMI is a student project developed by a team of 12 students from University of Toronto and Sheridan College over the course of 4 months.

The folding system
The core system of EVOGAMI is our folding system. This gameplay mechanic sees the player using directional inputs to fold themselves into new forms. Using a separate UI element the player is able to see what transformations they have, their inputs, and even watch the UI showcase the folding in real time!
Internally the team spent a great deal of effort breaking down our core mechanic and collaboration between different groups between 12 people needed to be clear. I was responsible for UI Art and Mock-Ups, Visual Prototypes for the programmers and up keep of Documentation.
Process Work
The process of designing this system started as a pitch of a folding origami character. With that pitch in mind as a team we moved through a large amount of concepts but eventually landed on a singular idea.
I had pitched the concept of re-creating the feeling of making origami with controls. Taking inspiration from the IRL experience of folding origami and breaking down input commands from multiple games lead us to the system with have with EVOGAMI.
